CUP WINNERS CUP 2002
Ballymoney headed to
Orense in North West Spain for the European Cup Winners Cup Division A campaign during
Easter 2002.
We were pooled with Leicester (England),
Glasgow Western (Scotland) and the German champions an der Alster, while the second pool
is made up of Rotterdam (Holland), Lorenzoni (Italy), Moscowskaya Pravda (Russia) and
hosts Orense
Ballymoney were massive underdogs in this
top-flight competition, but sure that was nothing new as we won Irish Senior Cup in 2001
as massive underdogs and were duly crowned Irish champions!
